Minutes of Meeting held January 26, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 10:10 by President Terry Deeb.  Terry welcomed several guests and there were 29 persons attending.

Minutes:  Reading of December, 2007 minutes was suspended so that we could devote more time to speaker General Bratten.

Treasurers Report:  Treasurer Brad Spencer was ill and could not attend the meeting so there was no treasurer’s report.

President’s Report:  Terry stated that a meeting place for Chapter meetings  is still being looked for and hopefully it won’t take too long to find one.  She announced that Trade Wind Aviation is doing a Sport Pilot Program.

General Braaten gave a very informative talk on plans for the airport.

Rick Dove who is with River Keepers Alliance also spoke for a short time to recruit pilots to help them in their river work.

Committees:

Poker Run:  Bob Morrissey reported that it is time to begin thinking about next year’s event and he will chair this committee again.

Food: Terry and Dominque will split the months and each will help the volunteers for their month bringing food and also will plan the programs.

Aviators Day: Ken Daub reported that April 26, 2008 is when Aviators Day will be held.  There were approximately 100 people attending last year.  Helicopter rides were given and General Braaten was the speaker.  Ken passed around a sign up sheet for those that would like to help on this year’s event.

Mumfest:  Mumfest will be discussed at a later  meeting.  Terry stated that she had already heard from someone out of town regarding this event.

Chapter Mission: Jay Figueroa updated the Chapter on the progress of the Mission Statement Committee.  The results of the committee's recommendations were presented.
